Icons: promotes memory skills and motor skills.

For parents looking to encourage cognitive skills while having fun — this Memory Game is a match! The sturdy and adorable acorn shaped cards are perfect for play and just the right size for little hands. Kids will be entertained by the animal and plant illustrations, designed to encourage conversation and imagination. You will find owl, squirrel, hedgehog, fox, and more in this illustrated Woodland themed set. Made of sturdy FSC certified paperboard.

How to Play: Lay each card face down on a flat surface.  Placing the cards in neat rows will assist with keeping track of their locations. Each turn, a player turns over two cards to see if they have found a matching pair. If you get a pair, place those cards in front of you and take another turn. It is the next player's turn when no match is made.  Once all of the cards are matched, the player who has the most pairs wins.

**Hint: to begin with an easier level of play, you can remove some pairs from the set to have a reduced number of cards. As children's memory and matching skills improve, add more cards back in to keep the game stimulating for even more playtime. For an earlier start, show your child the cards face-up and let them match the images and colors.

Great quality! Thick card stock. I used them for a sentence generating activity in my kindergarten classroom and my students love to play!

What a great idea! Thank you for sharing, we're glad your students are enjoying the game set.

Large "toddler friendly" size with fun hand-drawn art style

This is a fun little memory game with great style and well designed durability - the essentials for a game that's great for kids!

The first thing that caught my eye with this game was the size of the cards - a pleasant surprise. Although the box does have an "actual size" image on it, I wasn't quite of sure of the scale just based on the product listing photos. The cards are nicely sized for easy interaction, making them perfect for the target 3+ age range.

The hand-drawn are stye is fun and approachable, as is the unique acorn card shape. The entire stylized look makes the game very visually appealing, and really adds an element of fun to what could be an otherwise simple game. The set has a cohesive feel that conveys a sense of quality, and speaks to the thought that went into the product design. That same quality extends to the durability of the cards, and the thick compressed-cardboard material that they're printed on.

It's a kit that's easy to travel with, and the nature of the game allows for both solo and family oriented styles of play.

Our Favorite Memory Game

Like most families with small children, we have several different memory games. Most of ours are playing cards and another is a set of small wooden tiles. Then there's this game, which has 3" x 3" (standard post-it note size), super thick 3/16", pressed board acorns. Seriously these memory tiles are durable! My boys, ages 4 and 5 have wrecked pretty much every playing card memory game we have because they fold and tare so easily. And they always wreck the boxes trying to put the cards back into them, so we end up losing several cards. The box this game comes in is probably one of the nicest quality boxes I've ever seen a game come in, aside from those that come in tins. The box is laminated pressed board, about the same thickness as the acorns, and it even has a magnetic flap closure! I love that this won't get crushed in our game cabinet when others are stacked on top of it or if we bring it along on a trip. It's also really nice that our young kids can easily open and close the lid so they can play this with each other without any help from us. Lastly, I am surprised at how much my kids actually play this game! They played our other ones maybe 3 times and haven't touched them since. We've had this game for 3 months now and it still gets played weekly!
